In the Morning

I woke up from the heat of the sun and felt so appreciative because of how cold the night was! When I got up, it was so surprising to see how the woods and campsite looked because we could barely see anything when we originally got there.

I found the red and silver arrowheads on the trees that we missed last night, and I visually saw why they called it Goblin’s Forest. The forest was filled with dried spruce trees and lodgepole pines making them look ghoul or goblin-like.

After we made and ate our freeze-dried oatmeal, we continued Longs Peak trail for a morning hike above tree line at an elevation about 12,000 ft. The views were mesmerizing, and it was amazing hiking next to snow on the mountain in July!
